What Information to Send for an Industrial Noise-Control RFQ

A fast checklist for buyers who want a useful first response without preparing a complete engineering package.

Short Answer

For an industrial noise-control RFQ, send the noise source, equipment dimensions, site photos, current and target noise condition, access needs, airflow or heat data, openings, destination country, and any required documentation or acceptance method.

Start with the noise source

The first review needs to know what is noisy, where it sits, how it operates, and what must remain accessible. A short sketch with dimensions is often enough to start.

  • Machine type, model, footprint, height, operating side, and maintenance side.
  • Current noise issue, target receiver location, working hours, and nearby sensitive areas.
  • Photos showing walls, ceilings, walkways, doors, ducts, cranes, and adjacent equipment.

Add airflow and opening details

Cooling air, exhaust, process air, louvers, doors, cable entries, pipe entries, and removable panels can decide the enclosure route. Put these items in the RFQ even if dimensions are approximate.

Clarify what is confirmed and what is unknown

A first RFQ does not need to be perfect. It should separate confirmed facts from review items so the supplier can ask focused questions instead of guessing.

Attach documentation requirements early

If the buyer needs drawings, material sheets, certificates, test methods, inspection files, packing details, or installation guidance, those needs should be visible before the quotation is finalized.

Use this checklist before sending any acoustic enclosure, generator enclosure, compressor enclosure, fan enclosure, pump room, or soundproof chamber RFQ.
If exact noise data is missing, send the observed problem, receiver point, operating schedule, and photos so the supplier can define the next data request.
If drawings are not ready, send a sketch and dimensions with photos from several angles.
Keep acceptance criteria and documentation needs in the first email if procurement requires them.
